Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

WHAT DO I NEED?

  • 3 oz Brown Butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 oz dark or semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • flaky sea salt, for finishing
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened Churn Brown Butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and slightly fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolk, milk, and vanilla, stirring until glossy and fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Stir in chopped chocolate, reserving a few pieces for topping.
  6. Scoop dough into 6–8 large mounds and place on the baking sheet. Press extra chocolate pieces on top of each dough ball.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are still soft.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky salt immediately and let cool slightly before serving.
